Print Advertising

What do you need? A catalog? A brochure? An ad for the local newspapers or maybe a trade publication? I have done them all, from small black and white ads to full-page color ads. I can help you with copy, I can help with what you have started. I can connect you with a professional photographer if you need one. I can re-use much of this material to help you with a Web site. This is my strongest area! I have a degree in Graphic Design. Shocking but true, I actually studied to learn this stuff. Let me show you how much help I can be.

Examples: Best Western • American Cycling

Business Communications

I love designing business printing. What I really don't like to see is what happens when somebody goes to a print shop for cards and lets them come up with the design; out comes the catalog of clip art. Boo, hiss! I have seen too many cards constructed with tired old type styles and cartoon art from a software package. C'mon, folks, you want better than that, right? Of course I do letterheads and envelopes, and NCR forms.

Example: Ponderosa Brochure

Labels and Packaging

Just in case you have a product that needs a box, a wrapper, or even a sticker of some sort, I can help. I have handled packaging for garden products, a DVD on belly-dance costuming, a label for an arthritis lotion, and most recently, a private bottling of local wines.

Examples: Whitewater Connection • Jalapeño Balm

Company Symbols

Frequently called logos*, most every company wants an identifier. A symbol is what people recognize at a glance, the image that connects them to your verbal message. And there are more things to consider than simply getting flashy with a graphic that nobody understands! Still, I'll be glad to work with you to get to what you want.

*Note: a logo is actually the style used for the company name; logo means word. The graphic symbol that identifies the company is actually a trade mark.

Advertising Items

I create the artwork that is used to print other advertising items: calendars, coffee cups, t-shirts, or in this case, a magnifier. I have done flying platters, hats, embroidered patches, and athletic shirts for team sports. I can probably do whatever you need. Ask. I find solutions. Yes, I also drew the magnifying glass.

.

Banners!

Click the artwork to see the banner where I used this graphic. This was a 20-ft painted banner for over Main Street. I actually used to hand paint all banners but the market has changed so much that now people only seem to expect vinyl-lettered: nothing but boring block letters and no imagination showing. Quick and dirty, get it done, cash the check! Want better? Call me. Even a vinyl banner can involve attractive design.

Example: Chili Bar Rafting

Vehicles and Magnetic Signs

If you want a truck that gets recognized, talk to me. Cold Control owner Pat Green says that they always get compliments on their vans. Nina's Hubcap'ucino is delighted with her mobile coffee service van and its 50's diner motif. Horizon Tree Care tells me that they have had many jobs come in from people who saw their truck.

Many people like magnetic signs to mark a family car or a company vehicle that sometimes needs to be used incognito. Magnetics are best considered temporary but they do serve a purpose. They are usually not bigger than 12” x 24“.

Examples: Kipping Tree Service • Mariah Whitewater •

I hate seeing trucks go by with wimpy signs that can't be read from 20 feet away. Be bold! Get seen on the highway. It's great advertising.
